This is our second year supporting the KOMU Clear the Shelters event through NBC - Across the nation 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.3 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats. Shelters across the United States are teaming up with NBC. If you have room to care for a shelter pet - we hope you'll help Clear the Shelters. Foster or Forever - our Furry Friends need you.

AAAAI Statement on Asthma and COVID-19 There continues to be mixed messaging about asthma and COVID-19 severity risk. An updated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) webpage from last week still states that moderate or severe asthma may be a risk for more severe disease. The majority of studies published in the peer-reviewed literature do not support this statement, and most indicate that asthma is NOT a risk factor. Just a little clarification. WOW-- we have A LOT of things to update everyone on. Lots of changes starting next week. We have partnered with Nova Health Medical Group to make all of our systems work better for YOU. We will be going to a new electronic health record system that will allow you to access a complete comprehensive record as well as a smart phone app that will allow you to do "self check in's"!! I KNOW!! CRAZY! It is extremely important to register to the patient portal asap. Along with ...the change in the EHR (electronic health record), we will also be using them for all of our billing/claims/payments etc. We are so excited that we will have a professional company working on all of your financials that are educated in answering your questions throughly and completely. The transactions with Nova Health Medical Group will be for all charges starting Tuesday September 1 and moving forward. We will be asking that any balances in the current system be paid asap so that we can get that system wrapped up and out of our way. (I think you all know how much we LOVED that system !). When receiving future statements we will have our clinic name on the forms, but the phone number will be directly to Nova Health Medical Group so when you call, that is how the phone will be answered. You will just tell them which clinic you are a patient of. Please be patient with us as we work on 2 different systems to get the change complete, hopefully it will not take long. As for shots, we are still asking that you call for an appointment for now, ( I am also hoping that you will be able to make your appointments thru the portal..stay tuned for that answer) we are continuing to watch COVID numbers and will open back up to walk in as soon as possible. (Moberly office is currently on a walk in basis although our next Moberly Day will not be until Monday September 21st due to our schedule and the upcoming Labor Day holiday which we will be closed at both locations.)
