6 years ago I lost my grandfather to a blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma after he'd battled for 7 years. I got to be with him until a day or two before he p...assed and before leaving, I promised him that every year I would captain a Relay For Life team in his honor. I have done that for the last 5 years but COVID has prevented me from doing a Relay this year and that's been hard on me. Because for the last five years, I've spent 24 hours with family and friends gathered to walk and raise money for cancer research and patient support services. For the last 5 years I have walked 26 miles barefoot in honor of my grandfather and the pain he battled during his journey. So to anyone whose made it this far, remember, we are never alone.
