The City of Macon is excited to be partnering with Macon's MACTEC Graphic Design students, taught by Mrs. Linn, as they design a new city logo for our new website launching this spring. Deputy Clerk, Hannah Hartung, was able to present to the students our vision, Macon's history, and the building blocks of local government. We can't wait to see each student's work as they are all talented and creative individuals!

So, since there is a lot to unpack here with what we are expecting the next 24 hours we've provided 4 images. The first showing who is in the blizzard warning a...nd who is in the winter weather advisory. Areas outside of the blizzard warning could see temporary periods where visibilities could drop below 1/4 mile with snow however, where the blizzard warning is, is the area we are expecting sustained periods of stronger winds and reduced visibilities. The second graphic is peak wind gusts. These wind gusts have subsided a bit this evening but will increase late tonight with gusts 35-50 MPH out of the NW expected much of Friday. The third graphic is onset time. The main issue is that the morning and evening commutes will both be impacted...use extreme caution if you must travel. The fourth graphic is the snow totals. This will be a light fluffy snow and will most likely be difficult to measure as will be blowing around. Stay safe out there tonight/tomorrow everyone! Let us know if you have any questions. Macon County Health Department announces 7 new positive COVID-19 cases. These new cases were not from the mass testing performed by the National Guard on July... 20. 3 of these cases were from over the weekend and 4 from Monday July 27. Macon County’s total is now 55 cases with 9 of those being active cases
