December 17, 2020 There have been 89 new cases since our last update Thursday, December 10th. Lafayette County Health Department has confirmed a total of 1,687... cases of COVID-19 for Lafayette County to date. There are currently 234 active cases. We have two additional deaths to report bringing the total number of deaths to date to 40. Our thoughts are with their families and friends during these times. Numbers of new cases* by location since that information was reported last Thursday are: Alma-2, Bates City-3, Concordia-11, Corder-0, Dover-0 Emma-0, Higginsville-27, Lexington-19, Mayview-2, Napoleon-1, Rural Oak Grove-1, Odessa-17, Waverly-4, Wellington-2. *Above numbers do NOT include positive rapid Antigen results, as they are not considered diagnostic by the CDC. Numbers only reflect PCR confirmed laboratory tests.
