Christian Extended Care & Rehabilitation 27.01.2021

If you thought you heard thunder yesterday morning, don’t worry, it was just us having a great time. The residents tried something new and played instruments along with our Activities Director, Jocelynn, who is also a board certified music therapist. Residents had the opportunity to express themselves through their own ability to make music and to build a sense of community with their peers. A couple of our wonderful CNA’s also joined in the fun.

In honor of #NationalUkuleleDay, this past Tuesday, our Activities Director grabbed her ukulele and strolled down our halls, serenading our residents. There were very touching moments of smiles, singing along, and even a few (good) tears as patients remembered someone close to them. Thank you, said one resident, this past year has been very hard. I needed that.

The results are in! Let’s have a round of applause for Chereena Henton. Chereena has been a CNA at CECR for 7 months. She was drawn to the medical field after watching other CNA’s work and care for patients. Chereena enjoys working at CECR because of the flexibility which allows her to gain lots of experience in multiple areas. She really enjoys cooking in her free time and has a variety of interests and long term goals. A few of these goals include someday having her own business, becoming a vet, or an auditor. Chereena Henton is a team player. Chereena has volunteered to help out in every department this month in a variety of roles.

Congratulations on this month's #EmployeeSpotlight, Rosie Burr, CNA on Cardinal Hallway. Rosie has been at CECR for three years. She started in November 2017. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends (when there’s not a global pandemic). She is a member of CECR Employee Council and loves making her residents happy. Her long term goals include becoming a pediatric nurse. Her words to live by are, Strive to be different! Rosie goes above and beyond for her residents. She does great teamwork and always makes sure that her residents are happy and comfortableRosie is considerate, caring, and passionate about her job. ~ LaToya Brown, CNA

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Residents put their decorating skills to the test, helping the Activities Director put the tree together in the dinging room. Some residents really got into the spirit of things. #TreeDecorating

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday! Consider making a gift to #HopeDove of $35 or more. Dove ornaments hang on trees and greenery located in our communities.
