Today on CMP’s Music on Monday we have returning CMP performer Delaney McCoy singing the National Anthem, just as she's looking forward to doing next spring at the Cardinals' spring training. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=087TmNMhHP8
Let's also listen to Caden Self on CMP’s Music on Monday to tell us the other side of the story from the perspective of "Taylor the Latte Boy" himself. Caden last appeared on the CMP stage in the title role in "Oliver!" in 2012, and since then, he's worked with the Muny, the Rep, Opera Theatre of St. Louis and more. Now he's a college student, pursuing a career in the arts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahcv0jS4Kvk
Today on CMP’s Music on Monday, as we have a cup of coffee, we hear from Allison Crandall, a long-time CMP performer who has been dancing, singing and acting since the age of 4. Allison brings us a song that, in her words, speaks to her and how she goes about flirting: "Taylor the Latte Boy." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OILeznzg4cs
Through the years, CMP has raised funds for Humanitri. TONIGHT, Humanitri's All That Jazz Gala has gone virtual and is available to all at no cost (5:45 for pre-event music, 6 pm for the event, central time)! This is a great opportunity to enjoy some great music by The Ambassadors of Swing and learn more about Humanitri....and if you so desire, help with the fund raising as well! Humanitri transforms lives of people in need! There are inspiring stories to be presented along with the great music! Please consider joining the event TONIGHT to learn more about Humanitri and the work they do!
Today on CMP’s Music on Monday, for our second feature, take a moment to listen to Jessica McCawley. Her dreams include playing Mary Poppins and Eliza Doolittle. Jessica brings us a song about a feeling many of us wish for, being able to see ourselves through someone else's eyes: "Is It Really Me" from "110 in the Shade." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lq_FOdbIwlw&t=12s
Today on CMP’s Music on Monday listen to the talented fifth-grader Brooke Susic. Brooke returns to CMP with a song for young people like her, who are trying to become confident in who they are: "Sing Your Own Song" from "Dear Edwina." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crBA-sjsXQY
Today on CMP’s Music on Monday, we have the opportunity to enjoy a trio with over 20 CMP credits among them, in roles such as Aunt Em in "The Wizard of Oz," the Grinch in "Seussical," and the Cornish Ogre and Autumn Clown in "The Selfish Giant." You might know them better with feathers: this group includes one of "Seussical's" Bird Girls and two of the Crows from "The Wizard of Oz." Performing a song that reflects their family-like bond - "Right Hand Man" from "Something Rotten" - here are Jen Kerner, Robert Jones and Tony Jaskiewicz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y438xLGpz5I
Today on CMP’s Music on Monday, take a moment to listen to Kathy Eichelberger and Keith Poppitz singing "Sunrise, Sunset". Keith is revisiting his role as Tevye from "Fiddler On the Roof" and is joined by Kathy, a Westminster Christian Academy choir teacher, coordinator of theatre productions and director of middle school musicals. https://www.youtube.com/watch
For our first installment of CMP’s Music on Monday, featuring one of our Wish List Cabaret performers, we welcome Melissa Felps performing "Say the Word" from "The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown." Melissa was last seen on the CMP stage in 2016 as Gertrude McFuzz in "Seussical." She's since worked with many other theatre companies around St. Louis. https://youtu.be/ju7OUpwMxAU
The Premiere of the CMP 2020 Wish List Cabaret has played but the show and the songs from the show are available to see! See the entire show as one video here: https://youtu.be/ZQiKSQox0rA... See the playlist to play each part of or to select individual songs from this show here: https://www.youtube.com/watch See the production program, biographies and more at: https://www.flipsnack.com//cmp-wish-list-cabaret-program-9 For more on CMP see http://CMPShows.org These 21 songs were on the singer's Wish Lists. While we had planned for a live concert presentation in 2020, the restrictions related to COVID-19 required us to change our plans. Instead, we recorded the songs with a 4 piece combo band directed by Joe Paule, Sr. who played synth and trumpet, with Tim Clark on piano, Tom Appelbaum on the drum kit, and Joe Paule, Jr. on the bass guitar.
