The sanctuary is full of these....maybe another field day?

A good week at the sanctuary this week! Monarch tagging, insect, mushroom, and snake hunting, and Mammalogy students trapped a raccoon (just for observation)

The stick-tights are worth the price to be out documenting late breeding monarchs. We'll start tagging soon and maybe determine if our sanctuary is a small source of the overwintering population to Mexico. #centralmethodistuniversity #monarchbutterfly #monarch

Still lots of monarch breeding activity at the sanctuary: 8 eggs, 5 caterpillars and 10 adults. First photo is a day old monarch caterpillar, second photo is a 5th instar almost ready for a chysalis. We don't fully understand these late breeders, but they could be Mexico-bound once they emerge as adults.#monarchbutterfly #centralmethodistuniversity @ Fayette, Missouri
