We understand that the current Covid-19 situation and nationwide recommendations on social distancing may make you hesitant for inpatient visits. Our physicians and office staff continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation closely and understand that new information arrives daily. Our goal remains to provide the best care to all of our patients. We continue to implement strategies to achieve this goal of patient care while being mindful of pandemic precautions. At all of our offices we continue to: - Frequently disinfect all contact surfaces - Removal of unnecessary surfaces that present unique risks to the spread of... contagion (e.g. magazines, coffee makers, children’s toys, etc) - Prescreening phone calls for patients and rescheduling appointments if symptomatic - Masking and isolation of any patient demonstrating symptoms consistent with COVID-19 -Temperature screening upon arrival to clinic -Maintaining social distancing recommendations in our waiting rooms and infusion areas We have also implemented telehealth visits for any patients who would prefer to not have an in person visit. Please, if you are having symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath reschedule your appointment by calling or messaging through our patient portal. Please continue to practice good hand washing and hygiene as well as social distancing as recommended.

Dr. Travis Sifers is the most recent addition to The Center for Allergy and Immunology. He was born and raised in the Kansas City metro area. Dr. Sifers completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Kansas. He completed combined residency training in internal (adult) medicine and pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and... fellowship training at the Icahn School of Medicine in New York City, home to the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute and leading physician-scientists in both allergy and clinical immunology. He has considerable exposure in the diagnosis and management of primary immunodeficiencies, as well as that in food allergy, asthma, eczema and other allergic disorders. Dr. Sifers is board certified in internal medicine, pediatrics and allergy/clinical immunology. Dr. Sifers is currently accepting patients. Please contact our office at 816-531-0930 to schedule.

Spotlighting another one of our partners, we are excited to welcome Dr. Jeremy Sharp, MD to our practice. Dr. Sharp has been with us for 6 months and is excited to return to his hometown of Kansas City. Dr. Sharp completed medical school at Saint Louis University followed by a residency in San Francisco as part of the Kaiser Permanente medical system. He completed his training with a fellowship in Rheumatology at Saint Louis University. He enjoys all aspects of Rheumatology as well as connecting with his patients on a personal level. He sees patients primarily at our new Olathe location, but also at our Plaza location.

Dr, Julian Magadan has been with us for 3 years and works primarily at our South and Lee's Summit locations. Dr. Magadan grew up in Pasadena, TX. He went to college at the University of Houston, medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Kansas Hospital. Dr. Magadan completed his rheumatology fellowship at the University of Kansas Hospital where he continued to practice... as a rheumatology fellowship academic educator. He now is the Rheumatology rotation director for the University of Missouri Kansas City. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Rheumatology. Dr. Magadan is interested in all rheumatic conditions including lupus, scleroderma, vasculitis, inflammatory arthropathies and myopathies, sarcoidosis, interstitial lung disease, inflammatory eye disorders, and rheumatic diseases in pregnancy.

Dr. Tina Shah has been with us since 2017 and practices mainly in our North office. Dr. Tina Shah completed her undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City 6 year combined BLA/MD program. Subsequently, she attended internal medicine residency at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. During her Rheumatology fellowship at GWU, she underwent intensive training in musculoskeletal ultrasound for rheumatic diseases, as wel...l as, special instruction in myositis in association with the National Institutes of Health. She has varied clinical interests in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and especially spondyloarthropathies (psoriatic arthritis, anklyosing spondylitis, and inflammatory bowel disease related arthritis). She enjoys using the ultrasound to diagnose musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Shah is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology

We wanted to update all of you on a lot of exciting things happening with us. We have expanded our providers to include Dr. Tina Shah and Dr. Jeremy Sharp. We have opened a new office in Olathe, giving us 5 locations to better care for everyone in the greater Kansas City area. We continue to support and participate in organizations that are researching better treatments for our patients. Lastly, we continue to live our mission statement which is to provide the best Rheumatologic care for our patients. We are proud to announce that Neha Patel, MD has joined us. Dr. Patel completed her Allergy, Asthma and Immunology fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kan...sas City. She went to medical school in London, UK (University College London) and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at University of Missouri at Kansas City. She continued on as faculty at Children’s Mercy Hospital after her fellowship training and was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Allergy and Immunology. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Dr. Patel is interested in all allergic and immunologic conditions including asthma, allergic rhinitis, food allergy, drug allergy and primary immunodeficiency. She is currently accepting patients at the Olathe and Plaza locations with no wait time! Call our office today to schedule an appointment!
