ANOTHER OFFERING OF GREAT SERVICES AVAILABLE AT CEDAR COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL --- PHYSICAL, OCCUPATIONAL, AND SPEECH THERAPY!!! Boone Rogers, MPT, is our Rehabilitation Services Manager at Cedar County Memorial Hospital. His responsibilities include evaluation and treatment plan implementation for patients suffering from mobility limitations due to pain or who may be recovering from post-surgical pain or stroke recovery and beyond requiring Physical, Occupational and/or Spee...ch therapies. He has been serving in the capacity as Rehab Services Manager since 2011. Boone grew-up in Camdenton, Missouri. He attended K-State in Manhattan, Kansas for three semesters before transferring to Springfield’s MSU where he received his undergraduate degree in Psychology, then went on to earn his Masters in Physical Therapy with Honors in 2004. His first job was in Lebanon with St. John’s before he was recruited by CMH to work in Hermitage for a number of years. He subsequently moved on to employment with Genesis Rehab with commitments in Humansville, Marshfield, and Buffalo, mostly serving residents of long term care facilities. He and wife Angie, who is an Assistant Principal, reside in Mack’s Creek. They have 2 sons and 2 daughters. In his spare time, Boone enjoys hunting and fishing for crappie. Boone’s personal philosophy for Physical Therapy is, use it or lose it. Sedentary lifestyle is not conducive to good health, he commented. He understands very well that injuries and general wear and tear happen throughout life. There are also genetic factors of limitations. But one thing that he touched on that he would like people to know is, Here at Cedar County Memorial Hospital we have many tools in our tool box to treat a wide range of pain and mobility problems. A lot of people that ‘hurt’ seem to live with pain, treating it only with mediations and their own ability to tolerate the discomfort. At the same time they may not realize that other options are available through therapy that may actually get to the root of the problem that can be treated relieving sometimes long suffering pain with great improvement. Another very important thing that he would like the public to know is, if anyone at all has questions regarding their pain or limited mobility, please give us a call to see what we have available for relief. Many people are surprised at just what a regiment of standard therapies and treatment can do to help. Boone and his team at Cedar County Memorial Hospital may be reached by calling their direct line at (417) 876-3479. See more
HEALTHY TIP OF THE WEEK!! HOW ABOUT A SMOOTHIE? The American Heart Association advises that a smoothie "prepared the right way" can cover a multitude of nutritional needs. Throw a banana (you can keep them in the freezer for weeks) into your blender along with frozen berries, kiwi or whatever fruit you may have, some spinach maybe?? - 100% orange or other juice, and fat-free or low-fat yogurt (no added sugars). You can get 4-5 servings of fruits/vegetables in one smoothie depending on your ingredients. The AHA does remind the preparer to be careful, smoothies can be high in calories when they are made with full fat yogurt or ingredients with added sugars!!! And remember that fruits may be natural sugars - but they are still sugars!! Be sure to research the best recipes to fit your particular dietary needs!

In collaboration with third party computer forensic experts, we have restored key systems and online applications.
