A man just called us seeking a haircut for his wife, who is on Hospice. We do not provide haircuts, but told him that we would do our best to help him find what he is looking for! Safety Equipment and In-Home Services Prove Helpful to Seniors Shirley reached out to her local S...eniorAge senior center after an accident. She was facing a six-week waiting list for post-surgery assistance, anxious and upset about how to take care of herself at home alone. It was her Stone County Care Coordinator Bethany who saved the day. Bethany was able to provide Shirley with in-home services through the Stone County Home Safety Program, funded by the Stone County Senior Citizens’ Service Fund. Equipment that would help her remain safe at home including grab bars, a lift chair, bed board, toilet riser, and safety frame allowed Shirley to feel more confident at home until further arrangements could be made. This was the first time I have felt hopeful since my surgery, Shirley said. I was so thankful that my local Area Agency was here to help.
