Sold - Doe kid - $550 Beautiful ADGA doe kid with outstanding show and milk genetics behind her! Cats Cradle TL _______... Born 2-9-17 Sire: Dill's TS Tony Lama SS: Dill's D Two-Step SD: Dill's GA Whimsy 3*M Dam: Sunny Daze Day Tripper 1*M DS: Goldenbrook Farm MR Moonbeam DD: Sunny Daze Dear Prudence Her dam is one of our favorites to hand milk! Her teats are decent sized, have big orifices and soft texture. The perfect combo for ease of milking! She is also one of our top milk fat producers! She has earned her AR volume star as well. Her sires dam is one of my favorites in the Dill's herd! I absolutely love her udder as well as everything else about her! :-) Udder pics are of Dill's GA Whimsy (courtesy of Dill's) and Sunny Daze Day Tripper.

It has been a busy day!!! Last night Caprice was in early labor, so I stayed with her until midnight and then hubby took an air mattress to the barn so he could stay with her and get me to go in and get some sleep. By morning, still no kids. But it was cold and wet with damp snow covering the yard. Caprice finally decided to kid mid morning. When a doe progresses slowly, it's nearly always because a kid is in a weird position. When she finally started pushing, the kid ap...peared almost immediately. What came first? A tail!!! Apparently this little guy forgot to note the fact that he was supposed to dive out with his head and two front feet! Thankfully, Caprice has plenty of room, and out he came... tail and bottom first! He was quickly followed by a sister and brother... who did read the handbook and dove out like they were supposed to. Whew! So two bucks and a doe for Caprice! After I finished up with them, I decided to peak out in the doe pasture to see how everyone was doing. There was an awful cold drizzle... so other than a couple of heads that peeked out of shelters to see what I was up to, I could only see one doe. She was standing under a tree getting wet! Goats hate to be wet!!! And there is plenty of room in the shelters! So I headed out in the mud and rain to investigate! This doe had had a possible due date this week, but also a later breeding. I had checked her just a few days ago, and she had the tiniest udder, firm ligaments, and barely any baby bump. So I had decided she had settled on the later breeding. But when I got to her, she had a tight udder and almost no ligaments!!! Time to get her in a kidding stall! It was just a few hours later that she delivered a beautiful doe! Only one more doe due this month! Is that what they call a vacation?

Dill's BJ Caprice is in the kidding stall!!! She's on day 144 and udder has filled and ligaments are gone. So we are close. I sat with her until midnight, but she's mostly just resting, although she does periodically get up and paw before laying down again. My sweet hubby knew I wasn't going to leave her and come to bed, so he came out with an air mattress, and told me he'd come get me if she goes into active labor. This was after he went out in the snow earlier in the evening to find a little bantam hen that didn't find her way back to the barn. She's safe and warm now. I am so blessed!
