Tonight’s topic of training was an SCBA Stamina Course. Firefighters have to peform a circuit of tasks while breathing from their SCBA. Once the low air alarm goes off, then they proceeded to a rest area while still breathing the air from their SCBA, to see how long they can make the last bit of air last. Some of our firefighters were able to make the last 500psi last another 20-30 minutes (normally lasts about 5 minutes when breathing at a working pace). We try to put ou...r crew through this course at least once a year to give our firefighters an idea of how long their bottle will last under working conditions. Great work by all who participated!
