Please be aware. The Carter County Health Center is experiencing EXTREMELY HIGH call volumes. Most of these calls surround the issue of COVID 19 vaccination. All staff have multiple voicemails from over the weekend regarding this issue. We do not have any vaccine available at this time. We have set up a survey for a waiting list on our website. This plan prioritizes saving lives and protecting our most vulnerable citizens. We are and have been implementing our plan, which we established in the fall and... submitted to the federal government. We activated Phase 1B Tier 1 on Jan. 15, and we will activate Phase 1B Tier 2 on Jan. 18. We will continue to vaccinate the 1A population as we move into the next phase. Until there is enough vaccine for everyone who wants one, we have to prioritize the exceptionally limited supply we have. Even though we are activating the next tier, there are currently not enough vaccines for everyone in them. Based on new federal guidance, we anticipate additional vaccine supply. We are activating the next tier to ensure the greatest coverage as the supplies arrive and to allow vaccinators and organizations to plan for the next phases. 1A vaccinators who have available supply can begin vaccinations for Phase 1B Tier 1 and 1B Tier 2 on Monday. We are incredibly sad to share the news that our county has lost another member to Covid-19. Please keep the family & friends in your thoughts & prayers. This makes eight (8) deaths for our county from Covid-19.

Carter County Health Center will be closed today Dec 23 through Sunday Dec 27th in observation of the Christmas Holiday. Staff will work from home performing COVID-19 disease investigation and contact tracing throughout the holiday weekend but the office will be closed. Have a happy and safe Christmas!

Be sure to see the comment about Division of Family Services. Say it can’t be! But it is...time to let our community know that the applications for Angel Tree ...will be available starting NEXT week. Forms to put your child/children on our tree will be available at the Head Start office, Health Center, and the Elementary School office. We need your help by asking that you give us contact information ... providing two good, working phone numbers, printing all information on the form and getting the forms returned as soon as possible.
