Who out there needs a little Holiday cheer? High School Vocal Music's Auditioned Choirs are presenting their concert, full of festive favorites - this Sunday, December 13 at 3 pm. The event will take place in the High School Gymnasium (806 Walnut Street) and is entitled "Songs of the Season". The public is welcome to attend but is asked to please wear a facial covering and follow social distancing guidelines, for your health and those around you.... Please come and support these talented CJ singers! We hope to see you there for a jolly afternoon filled with beautiful music.
Family Library Night is tomorrow, Thursday 12/10 ONLY AT K-1 and Intermediate (4, 5, & 6). The 2-3 building is postponing their event until the following Thursday 12/17. Come by and grab a stack of books to get cozy with over Holiday Break! As with everything in 2020 - we are operating FLN under some health-based restrictions. Only one adult and one child, both with facial coverings, will be permitted in. You will be required to fill out a sign-in sheet for contract tracing purposes. Families are asked to social distance and not linger. Ho-Ho-Hope to see you tomorrow night at K-1 or Intermediate!

She is being applauded here for her rich teaching style and meaningful relationship building. Who out there loves Mrs. Hensley? We sure do! Thank you to parent (and fellow CJ teacher!) Julie Starr for your nomination. Let's keep flooding the Joplin Globe HOOT Award (Honoring Our Outstanding Teachers) inbox with our talented teachers. Making learning fun alert! 3rd-grade classes at CJ have been engaging in language studies throughout the year, and recently - Miss Bergkamp's students were asked to "bring an idiom to school". An idiom is a common phrase or expression with a figurative, non-literal meaning attached. Can you tell what these clever kiddos came up with? What a way to attach some great memories to valuable learning.
