Caregivers On The Homefront 31.12.2020

INTRODUCING OUR GIVE HOPE IN 2021 CAMPAIGN! Caregivers to our wounded warriors are selfless, have courage, and are compassionate to those they care for. But they could use our help. During this pandemic let's help each other and give a bit of HOPE. Show a veteran caregiver they are seen and loved for caring for those that borne the battle for us by sponsoring a monthly care package. For less than a glorified cup of coffee a week, you can help us reach 21 caregivers with yo...ur monthly donation of $20. #GIVEHOPEIN2021 Prior to the pandemic our veterans and military wounded warriors were struggling with mental and physical injuries. The pandemic has made these injuries even harder to manage. The isolation has become even more unbearable. Our caregivers are trying to keep their immune compromised loved ones protected from the virus, while many of them are homeschooling at home. Our families have many children with special needs as well who they are caring for. For the families who are caring for someone with mental health challenges, the pandemic has caused an even greater strain. Substance abuse is up as well as suicidality. Our caregivers are on the front lines at home trying to hold their families together. Help us spread kindness! Your $20 monthly donation in 2021 will help us reach 21 caregivers each month. You can even provide a note of encouragement and hope to these families. BECOME A GIVER OF HOPE TODAY! We have over 300 caregivers that need to know we care and see the challenges they are facing. #GiveHope #HiddenHeroes #EmpoweredCaregiver #Veteran #FamiliesServeToo Click on the link to set up your monthly donation on our secure website. https://caregivers-homefront.org/how-to-help/donate.html If you are a caregiver and would like to share what it would mean to get a care package - let us know! In fact, leave us a comment and we will put you on our list of #GiveHopein2021 Campaign! (must be one of our registered caregivers - it's free!)

We want to give a huge thank you to the Westport Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution Kansas City MO NSDAR for assisting one of our veteran caregiver families this Christmas season! These family caregivers give of themselves selflessly behind the scenes to take care of our Nation's wounded warriors. Thank you so much for the hand up! You are so appreciated!

As Christmas comes to an end, I, Shawn, your Executive Director, wanted to share what I have seen throughout veteran caregiver Facebook pages today. Many of the family caregivers taking care of a veteran spouse were posting that they were the only one in the family that didn't get a gift, or that they buy their own gift each year. Sometimes the veterans are either physically or mentally challenged so they don't end up getting a gift for their spouse. These spouses step u...p every day to care for their veteran. As a community you can help us give the gift of a care package to at least 21 caregivers for your monthly donation of $20 throughout 2021. Help us let these caregivers know that we see what they do so selflessly behind the scenes. Join us and our President of our board, Susan Moore, in sponsoring a caregiver in 2021. Susan has sponsored two caregivers for our Give Hope in 2021 Campign! You can too buy donating here or heading over to our webpage to set up your monthly donation. Or get a tax break through the IRS when you donate $300 before the end of the year - that's 15 caregivers that would get Christmas each month so they don't feel left out. Help us reach our goal by the end of the year by donating today. Merry Christmas everyone. https://caregivers-homefront.org/how-to-help/donate.html See more

Serving the entire veteran family unit is what we do best and we can do it even better with community partners! Thanks to After Action Network, Stand4Heroes with the Bob Woodruff Foundation, and Hy-Vee we were able to provide a food shopping spree to local veterans and their families/caregivers yesterday - AND we are not done yet! For a hand up, you can apply here https://forms.gle/uzzvsyawjzsB95a69 Thank you Rob Hughes KMBC for capturing these moments and always supporting the veterans and families in our community. https://www.kmbc.com//all-we-really-care-about-p/35067311# #veteran #HiddenHeroes #StrongerTogether #caregivers #foodinsecurity #mentalhealth
