Caplinger Woods

Come be a part of Caplinger Woods Bow Fishing Tournament this weekend Saturday June 24th and Sunday June 25th!! Come check out bow fishing on the Sac river this weekend. Plenty of big fish still up. Saw a few nice ones shot today from the bridge. Should be an action packed weekend. $200 in cash prizes. NO ENTRY FEE but do need to sign up at Caplinger Woods bait shop before fishing. Fish entries can only be harvested from the Sac river. Winner will be determined by length for each species category and must be officially measured at Caplinger Woods by park employees. Species categories will be Gar and Drum/Buffalo/Carp. $100 prize for top fish in each. All fish entries have to be submitted for entry by Sunday at 8 pm and winners will then be announced and cash prizes paid out. Good luck or just aim true

Time to float! Beat the heat. The Sac river is FINALLY down from the flood. Everybody is hitting the river for some good cooling down times. Really good floating conditions right now. The bald eagles are out like crazy right now too. Great scenery. Get your reservations booked today. 417-423-8338

Lots of new things going on at Caplinger Woods!! Great opening weekend last week. Fantastic group of campers, lots of fun! Despite the setback of the flood everything is going great and construction on the park is moving forward. The log entry arch is up but we are still carving the support logs to fit and all the carved fish that swim up to the top arch. Should be pretty cool when it's finished in the next few weeks. Sand volleyball courts will be finished next week if the weather will finally cooperate. The new ice cream shop and restaurant we just purchased on the corner will be opening in a few weeks as well. The first new cabins are starting in the next few weeks as well. Full bait shop is open and doing great. Amazing fishing going on right now. Will post pics shortly. Check it out.
