I hit the wall just as August hit- how about you? What you are feeling is frustrating but totally normal, and there are ways to find some ease through it. "Maddaus’ idea of a resilience bank account is gradually building into your life regular practices that promote resilience and provide a fallback when life gets tough. Though it would obviously be nice to have a fat account already, he says it’s never too late to start. The areas he specifically advocates focusing on are sleep, nutrition, exercise, meditation, self-compassion, gratitude, connection, and saying no."

How are you doing? Can you believe it's already August? I had hoped that I'd be back to taking in-person appointments by now but, unfortunately, the COVID-19 circumstances in the St. Louis area have not changed enough to make that the safe choice. As always, the safety of my clients and community are at the forefront of my decisions. But don't fret, Virtual Appointments are still available! Regular sessions last from 30-45 minutes and are great for relaxation or focusing on ...one area that needs attention. Due to popular demand, I am now also offering extended sessions which take about an hour and are a good choice if you have several areas that need focus. (find out more here: https://www.calliopemassage.com//virtual-appointments-at-c ) Lastly, I want to assure everybody that Calliope Massage Studio will return. A combination of careful business decisions, grants, and continuing to conduct business in a slightly different form is keeping the doors open and the lights on until we meet again. I miss you all, and I am always reachable by email at [email protected] for questions and check-ins. Please enjoy this picture of a fuzzy bee butt. - Halley

Hi, hello! Have you checked out our virtual appointments yet? In-person appointments are still on hold. Cases are still trending upwards in the St. Louis area, so I just don't feel that it is safe or that I can provide a relaxing environment with all the precautions required. Close contact in a small room for a prolonged period of time is particularly high risk for both client and practitioner. I've found that the required masking and PPE to reduce transmission make it very d...ifficult to create a space that allows your nervous system to properly relax. Additionally, COVID-19 has the potential to cause blood clots in the body even in otherwise asymptomatic individuals which makes massage particularly risky. The good news is that I have created custom virtual sessions for you and they have been really popular! Each session is designed to help you feel better by combining guided self-massage, stretching, and relaxation techniques to increase body awareness and calm your nervous system. You can read more about what that will be like and how to book here: https://www.calliopemassage.com//virtual-appointments-at-c
