California MO PD

In the early morning hours on December 8th, the California Police Department received a call about a suspicious vehicle near S. Oak St. and Aurora St. Upon police arrival the vehicle left the area and proceeded to the Village Green parking lot, with the driver acting suspicious. Again the driver evaded police and pulled into the lot at the California Motel. An officer made contact with & identified the driver as: Jacqueline M. Stegeman. Stegeman had no valid driver's license ...and continued to act irratic. Upon being detained in wrist restraints, she resisted and was eventually placed into custody. Not before tossing an item underneath the vehicle which turned out to contain a white substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine. She was booked into the Moniteau County Jail on a 24 hr hold, and warrants were issued as follows: 1. Poss. Cont.Subs. - Felony D 2. Resisting Arrest - Felony E 3. Tampering w/Evidence - Felony E 4. Unlawful Poss. Drug Para. - Misd. A 5. No Valid License - Misd. D Bond was set at $50,000.00 cash/surety. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This dog was brought in by the California city police Wednesday December 2nd 2020 and found on East Smith Street. He is a red/white Australia Shepherd, male, about 3 or 4 years old. If you recognize or know who’s dog this is please call the California veterinary clinic at 573-796-3168

On 11/30/2020, officers received a report of a male breaking into a vehicle in Village Green parking lot. They were advised that the suspect was being chased by the vehicle owner. An officer with California Police Department and deputies with the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene. They located several items that had been discarded by the suspect. They located the subject at the bowling alley and after a brief foot pursuit the subject, identified as Justin G.Lo...ggins, was taken into custody. During the investigation it was discovered that Justin had broken into another vehicle at the bowling alley. All items that were stolen were recovered and returned to the owners. After being arrested and taken to jail methamphetamine and a pipe were located on Justin. Charges as follows: Justin G. Logging (Marshall, Mo) - Property Damage 1st Degree - Felony D Property Damage 1st Degree - Felony D Poss of Controlled Sub - Felony D Resisting Arrest of Felony - Felony E Stealing - Misdemeanor A Stealing - Misdemeanor A Bond set at $100,000.00 cash or surety All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
