Thanks to everyone who voted for our birds in the last couple of contests, we were able to buy a shed for our pigeons so they could move outside. They have bee...n living in cages for as long as 1.5 years. All kinds of flirting, chest puffing, and drama happened when they got to explore their new 10 by 10 by 6 foot tall flight pen. Yes, it is chain link, but they are locked up in their shed at night so the monsters can't get them, so they will be safe. These birds were either wild birds that were injured and can't fly, babies we raised who don't know how to survive in the wild, racing birds that never made it home, or white pigeons that were released at weddings or funerals and don't know what to do since they were raised in cages. The good news: they are available for adoption!

Our nonprofit bird rescue and adoption program has hundreds of dishes, perches, toys, and cages for sale, so we are moving them to our sidewalk on Saturday, September 26, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Pick up an adoption application for a new bird (no adoptions will be possible at the event), and buy bird food for less than the big chain pet stores charge. We can accept cash, VISA, or Mastercard.
