The iconic ...photo captures a soda jerk on break and a lovely dressed young customer in the background. If the art deco style of the building looks familiar, it absolutely is. This is now the corner of 63rd and Brookside Plaza looking southeast to what is now Panera Bread. Fun fact: the drug store sign can still be seen on the top of the building! The sign, hidden in plain sight, is often a surprise to so many that have never looked up. Have you? Also a surprise - the prices and products listed in a 1957 KC Star ad for the Parkview Rexall Drugs. How about a 6 pack of Pepsi (in the "new single-drink size") for only a quarter!
