Babies don’t attend our breastfeeding classes. They don’t read our books. They have a natural instinct to eat, instinct to survive. I feel like our culture makes breastfeeding too complicated. We teach moms all kinds of nursing positions, with all kinds of devices. If mom leans back, places her baby skin to skin on her chest, she might see a miracle. Baby latching independently and naturally. If for some reason baby can’t latch -for example medicated birth, tongue tie, jaundi...ce, prematurity, low milk supply, yes , we should intervene.
