Who doesn’t love Rosemary? Whoever took this photo captured her joyful magical nature perfectly. She has touched the lives of so many people and plants, includi...ng me. Without her we wouldn’t be celebrating 9 years together at the MidAtlantic Women’s. She has a way of reaching in and touching your heart, a way of seeing who you really are, of bringing out your genius and joy. And she does it all with a humble, earthy happiness. Does anyone know what I am trying to say? It’s like trying to describe fireworks! Best part? She’s coming back to BotanicWise Allies for Plants and People in June. I love you @rosemarygladstar! #herbalist #plants #plantmedicine See more

Hi, Friends, our beautiful and amazing Jasmine (Rosemary's mother) turns 95 today. That’s a long stroll backward in time and a very special day at that. I have h...ad the privilege of spending a good amount of time with Jasmine! Often I would ask her ~ what is your secret? She has an incredible spirit and her response: "Keep laughing and having fun, whether you can think you can or not!" Please join us in sending Jasmine and Rosemary some special birthday love, prayers and a ton of LAUGHTER! Rosemary and Jasmine both share a vibrant spirit and love of life! Happy Birthday, Jasmine! Love, Helen Ward

Zaatar (Origanum syriacum), by itself a tasty spice and an ingredient in the spice blend of the same name. These spices--seemingly there just to make food tast...e better--are really loaded with antioxidants that assist digestion and ultimately extend life expectancy. I find these plants to be a pretty reliable barometer of how cold the winter was--they overwinter in our Zone 7 only when the winter is mild. I'm growing lots of Zatari this year--I want us to have it for the kitchen, and we do have plenty of seed and very nice plants available at www.strictlymedicinalseeds.com Come on by, and don't forget the unleavened bread and olive oil!
