Today we honor those that served their country. Our military veterans! These men and women joined the military to protect us and our freedoms. Then they came back, some are strong pillars of our community, some quietly live with their families, and some need our support. But they all deserve our respect and appreciation! Today Bootleggers would like to offer veterans a free meal of their choice! That's right, whether it's a pulled pork sandwich, a burger or a brisket dinner, whatever you choose off our menu! Dine in or to go, we will gladly give a free meal to our veterans. All we ask that you show your ID and be in person. This is Bootleggers way of showing our appreciation of your service!

As you have probably heard, West Plains now has a mask requirement. Which means Bootleggers has to follow that requirement, or receive fines and possibly be shut down. They even provided the picture that we have to post on our entrances. We will still continue to go above and beyond all suggested cleaning and sanitation steps recommended by the National Restaurant Association, CDC and Howell County Health Department to ensure a safe experience for our guests. Just now with th...e addition of all our employees and guests wearing a mask. We understand if you have underlying health reasons for not wearing a mask. And due to respect of HIPAA and ADA laws will not ask you about your health conditions. We will assume you have a medical condition if you are not wearing a mask! All we ask is to please observe proper social distancing and be nice to those that have to wear masks. We fully understand the frustration and thought of not doing business in West Plains due to this new ordinance. Hurt the city by reducing tax dollars is the idea. However, please realize this, that does not hurt the City of West Plains at all! It helps them in fact! With passing the mask ordinance they now qualify for money to make up any loss in sales tax or revenue. So all your actions of not shopping or not eating in West Plains does is hurt our locally owned small businesses. We were already struggling to pay our staff and our bills before this. It will be even harder to survive now. There are many small businesses in town that truly need your help to keep their doors open. Think about how bad it will hurt them, because the city will get their money no matter what happens to the small businesses. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
