Sabra will be celebrated along with the late Dr. Hugh E. Stephenson, Jr. - a nationally renowned cardio medicine innovator and business recipient MBS Textbook Exchange, as all are inducted into the Boone County Hall of Fame. In case you missed it, the Boone County History & Culture Center reminded us of the tireless, committed, loyal, adventurous, unselfish, effective and kind hearted Darwin & Axie Hindman yesterday. These two incredible civic leaders and volunteers were added to the Hall of Fame in 2017!

Boone County Historical Society is proud to honor our 2020 enshrinees to our Boone County Hall of Fame! Sabra Tull Meyer is a nationally recognized sculptor. She completed the Corps of Discovery instillation at the Capitol and well as numerous public and private sculptures in Missouri and across the United States. MBS Textbook Exchange started in 1909 serving public schools with school desks and teacher supplies. (It was located where Ellis Library is now.) MBS now sells te...xtbooks to 3,700 college bookstores and makes significant contributions to Boone County. Dr. Hugh Stephenson, Jr. M.D. graduated from Hickman, and earned two degrees from MU before serving in the US Army Medical Corps. He became a distinguished cardio-thoracic surgeon and developed one of the first mobile cardiac resuscitation units. He the led the charge to establish a four-year medical school at the University of Missouri.
