Although Dr. Wagner is still quarantining following travel through March 30, Dr. Kristina Clay, my in-office colleague, is available to see patients. We ask that you only make an appointment if your condition would deteriorate without care. Please schedule routine or maintenance care once social restrictions are lifted. Please do your part to practice social distancing and hand hygiene as recommended by the CDC. We are reevaluating our policies on a daily basis and the health... and safety of patients and staff is always our highest priority. Please do not come to the office if you: have a fever or cough or are otherwise ill, you or a member of your household has traveled within 14 days, you or a member of your household has been in contact with a known or suspected case of coronavirus, if you are pregnant, or if you are older than 65 or immunocompromised. We are trying our best to limit the number of people in our office, so we ask that you please leave family members and friends at home. You may wait in your car and call the office upon your arrival to avoid time in the waiting room. We ask that you only receive services in the therapy bay if necessary. Acupuncture will only be performed if necessary, determined on a case by case basis. Please do NOT utilize medical services (including medical physicians, urgent cares, and ERs) for nonemergent musculoskeletal complaints at this time. We are remaining open to reduce the burden on medical providers. We are always dedicated to sanitizing the office, but in light of the recent outbreak, we are cleaning with increased frequency. Here is the story of this little guy, Sam, who happens to be my cousin. His mom had two miscarriages in a row and couldn’t figure out why. I reviewed her bloodwork and ordered some more. Mom has a common gene variant which makes it difficult for her to use folic acid, so we eliminated it from her diet and instructed her to supplement with folate only. In addition she was vitamin D deficient (most of my patients are!) and provided her with an inexpensive, high quality vitamin ...D supplement. Both of these factors increase the risk of miscarriage. After making these changes, she was pregnant a month later! Both mom and baby are happy and healthy! Today I gave a demonstration of electroacupuncture to my networking group. I do it mostly for musculoskeletal complaints but acupuncture may help with many other issues too! Chiropractic + acupuncture is a powerful combination.
