Bollinger County Library

this goes out to all those who doubt. I just opened a package from Valley Park, MO with a book in it. The person was going through her father's things and saw our stamp on a book and took the time to mail it back to us. She apologized for this book being out for over five years. People are basically good. We just need to look for it. And....if you have any long overdue books, we are not charging fines during covid. We have a book drop right beside the door too if our hours don't fit this week's schedule. Have a great day and smile at that frowning person. You may make their day.

Sorry folks I have not posted recently but have been wrapping up the year end reports and figures. Thanks everyone for paying your taxes or else we would not be here. Also for my families that come for story hours on Wed. at 10:30, we will not be able to have one this Wed. because I am working from home this week because of being exposed to the virus and don't have any symptoms but don't want to share just in case. Also it's supposed to be snowing tomorrow morning so just enjoy the pretty snowflakes. We'll see you next week, Good Lord willing.

Hope all enjoyed the snow. If you missed grabbing a book from your favorite author, this Saturday the 9th is our Sat. to be open from 9-1. Come see us and don't miss the huge book sale either.

As students go back to school, work, college remember that if internet is needed, the community hotspots are available. Library and education go hand in hand.

The Board and Staff of the Library wish all of you a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year. The Library will be closed on Dec. 24th & 25th and then on 31st and Jan. 1st. Also, if you have young ones to keep entertained, Miss Penny will be doing the children's story hour tomorrow the 23rd and on the 30th too at 10:30. We always enjoy Miss Penny's visits!

BLOWOUT! BLOWOUT! BLOWOUT! For all those who think they have their Christmas shopping finished, I dare you to stop by and see the book sale we have going. We have gotten a few very large donations over the last several months and our shelves are full to overflowing. there are some great books on here. A lot of inspirational ones, journals for the year, bestsellers, art and travel etc. There are not too many small children's books but we do have a box full of Disney books that we are allowing one per child for free. We also have a great assortment of comics left too. The regular books are all 4 bags for $1 and the comics are 4 comics for $1. You can't beat that! This sale will go until January 31st and then regular prices will go back into effect.

Today is GIVING TUESDAY! Most of you have probably seen this in your inboxes and on your pages. Please support all those charities that you love but don't forget Local ones either. Salvation Army helps families with utilities, rent and other life saving programs. Black River Electric will take funds and pay bills for those who can't, every Church and organization has had little or no donations this year so carefully plan your giving. The Museum, Caring Council and lots of other too can use your help. Please also share this so we can get the word out. And of course the Library can always use donations too. The Library cannot take advantage of this opportunity because we are a subdivision of the county and not a 501c3. So we choose the Museum when we purchase books or supplies from Amazon. The Library will be closed Thurs & Friday for Thanksgiving but we will have our Wed. story hour at 10:30 and our wifi will stay on for those needing something and can sit outside and use it.

The hotspot at Leopold KC hall is working again. Thank you to the KCs for hosting this.

Just wanted to let you know that the hotspot at the Leopold KC hall is down right now. Will try to have it fixed as soon as possible. The wifi at the Library is on all the time even when we are closed for those "have to" downloads or homework.

For those needing a last minute book or copies of their receipts, this is our Saturday to be open. From 9-1.
