Black Belt Karate Association

We are sad to announce that tonight was the Last night of classes at Black Belt Karate. Due to all of the craziness that surrounded 2020 we are put into a position to have to make the tough decision facing many small businesses today. We are very fortunate to have a extremely dedicated head instructor who will continue our current students on their martial arts journey individually. We have been absolutely blessed these last 5 years of owning this dojo. We have had such ...amazing families come through our doors. Ones who have trusted us and our staff to be a part of their families lives. To teach their family the skills needed to keep themself safe and success for their future. In return they have taught us a lot too. Each and every one of them hold a special place in our hearts. As we locked up it made us think of the students and staff that were with us tonight. These guys are warriors young and old. They have fought through COVID shut down where everything was virtual. They eagerly showed up when we started back in June and never complained about the limitations. They just came to learn and work. Even after learning of the fate of BBK these last few weeks they each came in with a great attitude to finish out strong. To be among these strong students I am extremely great full. In listening to another owner a few weeks ago in the same shoes as us he made a statement that I thought was very well put. He said a Dojo is just the 4 walls you train within. It has no bearing on the closeness and the family that is created inside. That family will still exist even when those 4 walls are gone. Each person who has been through BBKA over the years has had their own break through moments and I’m sure can remember their teammates helping to push them to areas they never thought were possible. That is what being a family is all about. Pushing each other and celebrating accomplishments. I am excited to keep celebrating with all of our students because I know they will be doing some great things. We don’t have to have those 4 walls to do that. Know we are always here for each and every one of you no matter where life takes you. You will ALWAYS be part of the BBKA family.

Reminder: all ranks Halloween safety class will be tonight at 5:30. Doors will be open at 5:15

Black Belt Karate had a great night tonight awarding belts to some very deserving students! I am so proud of them all. Each of them continued to train hard during the entire COVID shut down through virtual training, as well as came back in June and continued to grow and learn. Even when everything has seemed so unsure around them they kept moving forward to their goals. Due to their dedication we Now have a new 2nd Degree Black Belt, Brown Belt, Green Belt, and Orange Belt! For the little Dragons Class we have one graduate!! As well as a new Dragon Belt and a double Brown Stripe Belt! Please post your Child’s In the comments below

Just a reminder: all ranks will have class 5:30-6:3 tonight. Doors will open at 5:15. Parent are allowed in the viewing room tonight and Thursday

Good luck to the BBK students testing today for their next ranks. We will see you all at 9:30 and test will begin at 10. Today is a day to show off what you have learned and prove to yourself that you are ready for the next belt rank. We are so proud of each of you! Reminder bring a mask

Just a reminder, Black Belt Karate will be closed on Monday for Labor Day. Enjoy your last long weekend with your family before Hannibal Public Schools start back up for the school year. We will see all of you back in class on Thursday.
