Next week is gonna be brutal in the temperature category! We will still be having lessons at Rolling Hills Ranch, LLC, mobile lessons will be cancelled for nex...t week and we will make the 4-H meeting short and sweet! I have been pondering on how to make the most of the cold however! Here’s my idea: Group groundwork lessons! It’s gonna be chilly so we will let the horses stay in front of the hay bales and stay warm! But I have a super fun scavenger hunt/relay that will keep us moving! This will also give the later evening lessons the chance to come a little earlier if they’d like before temps drop even more. If you find yourself still in a private lesson, no worries! We will play a less competitive version! Don’t be surprised if you find yourself doing some chores as well! Here’s what I need from you guys...let me know a day/time that would work best for you! I’ll let you switch lesson days/times this week *Cold weather tips -drink a hot beverage before coming to the barn -gloves will be a must! -hot hands in gloves and boots -double up on socks or wool socks -layer clothing! -heavy coat -neck gators are great for keeping necks and faces warm -beanie, ear cover, etc will keep ears/head warm Here are some sign-up options! Going into 2021, I am thankful! I am currently teaching 26 hours a week at Rolling Hills, handling 5 boarded horses weekly for owners, serving 12 mobile students when our schedules align, leading the largest 4-H group in Camden County, doing evening chores 4 nights a week, and doing my best to keep 4 personal/lesson horses legged up. The days are often long, I miss out on spending time with family & friends, I get home exhausted, laundry and house cleaning takes 3-5 business days to get done.....BUT I wouldn’t have it any other way. Just over a year ago I stepped away from working full time as a veterinary technician to get back in the horse world, and the support has been immense! Thank you!
