Good morning, families and friends of Byers Avenue! Following is some important information concerning The Christmas Shoppe 2020 with our ministry partner God...’s Resort. Unfortunately, we will not be able to host The Christmas Shoppe this year. We had planned on doing so on December 12th, but with Covid numbers on the rise and our suspension of several of our church activities, we will not be able to host the event. We can, however, be involved in the purchase of gifts for the kids connected to God’s Resort. Here’s how you can help. Come by the church between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and choose one or more Christmas tags. Each tag has a child’s age and gender along with gift ideas. Purchase and return unwrapped gifts to the church by Friday, December 11th. Or, if you’d rather have some of our Christmas Elves do the shopping for you, simply make a donation to the church in any amount and designate it for the Christmas Shoppe. Also, if you’d like to help in any other way, please talk with me. We so appreciate your generosity this Christmas season. Thanks to Byers Avenue and others, the children of God’s Resort are going to be greatly blessed this Christmas! Pastor Chuck

Recently, I came up with the following list of "Ten Ways to Grow Your Faith". I believe that it is more important than ever to be intentional about our spiritua...l lives. Today, I'm looking at #3 on the list, "Read your Bible". 1. View an online church service. 2. Pray. 3. Read your Bible. 4. Give. 5. Serve. 6. Use a daily devotional. 7. Memorize Scripture. 8. Watch Right Now Media. 9. Listen to Christian radio. 10. Journal Perhaps you've received a love letter from someone of great significance in your life. If you have received such a letter, it's likely that you could hardly wait to read it. You probably poured over it word for word. Perhaps you even committed a portion of it to memory. What if God sent a love letter to you? Wouldn't you want to see what he has to say? Wouldn't you find comfort, encouragement, and challenge in it? The Bible might best be described as God's love letter to us. It's not some stagnant, dusty, old book. Rather, the Bible is alive and dynamic. Still, it does not benefit us unless we read or listen to what God has to say through it. I want to encourage you today to open the book and listen to God opening his heart to you. I guarantee that God will speak through his Word.
