A Warsaw couple was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred Monday afternoon in Benton County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2009 Lincoln Towncar, driven by 68-year-old Stephen E. Snyder of Warsaw, was on US 65, south of McDaniels Road at 2:25 p.m., when the driver attempted to avoid a vehicle making a right turn. The Towncar started skidding, ran off the left side of the roadway, and overturned. Snyder and his passenger, 67-year-old Joy L. Snyder of Warsaw, suffered moderate injuries and were transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance for treatment. Both were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.

BREAKING NEWS: Benton County Sheriff Eric Knox and his wife Joy suffered serious injuries yesterday when a back tire on their motorcycle shredded, ejecting them both. The accident occurred around 5:45 PM on Warsaw’s Mile Long Bridge. At this time Sheriff Knox is listed in fair condition and Mrs. Knox in critical condition. More to follow as the Enterprise is able to get updates later today.

Concern about the status of Pinnacle Propane’s operations in Benton and surrounding counties and throughout the state is growing. Up to a time only 6 months ago, 7 customers had given Pinnacle Propane 5 stars in Google reviews. Yet, for the first time 9 months ago, and as recent as 6 days ago, ratings have fallen consistently to 1 star. LOCAL PRODUCE/FOOD DISTRIBUTION Lincoln VFW Post 5925, in partnership with CC Produce of Kansas City, will have their final produce distribution on Wednesday, 19 August starting at 9 am. Distribution will not start until the 22 pallets are unloaded and the delivery truck has left the area. East Bledsoe Ferry Public Use Area is off the Truman Dam Access Road, below the Truman Visitors Center on the East side of Truman Dam. The Warsaw Food Bank has their food distribution scheduled for 19 August at Harbor Village, which is also on the Truman Dam Access Road. You can visit both distributions, or find alternate routes around.

Expect Delays on Benton County Route U on Monday, August 10 For Pavement Sealing Where: Benton County Route U between Missouri Route 52 in Cole Camp and Whiteman Road at the Benton County/Pettis County line When: 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday, August 10... What: Contractor crews sealing pavement with a mixture of rock and oil Traffic Impacts: Drivers can expect one-lane traffic with flaggers and a pilot vehicle guiding them through the work zones. Drivers on side roads are encouraged to wait for the pilot vehicle before entering the state routes. Drivers may be stopped for up to 15 minutes Drivers are encouraged to avoid Route if possible during the project Local residents will be able to get to driveway and entrances along the road Additional info: A chip-seal is planned for this roads as an economical way to maintain and preserve the roadway. The treatments keep a road from deteriorating and extends its life. (Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule)
