Congratulations to Anchor Her!! BBPA's 2021 Grant Recipient!! The BBPA and its members are so very excited to help this great cause. Anchor Her is a faith-centered nonprofit based in the Greater Kansas City. Our mission is to embrace, empower and ignite women impacted by incarceration, domestic violence, and addiction.... We accomplish this mission by: Consult: Identify critical re-entry needs. Coach: Teach skills and strategies to aid client in achieving success. Connect: Advocate for improved use of community resources and support offered through various groups. Through weekly support groups, and one on one mentoring, we assist women to successfully transition to their new lives post-release. We work with various organizations, businesses, churches and individuals to provide the following: Transitional living Food, shoes, clothing and hygiene Furniture New community

In August we concluded our 2019-2020 fundraising campaign and presented a $10,000 check to Mimi’s Pantry in Riverside, MO. We thank everyone who helped us raise the money that will be helping to feed those in our community that need a hand up during this difficult time. We have now officially started our 2020-2021 campaign. We are accepting applications from all eligible 501c-3 organizations. For more information please visit our website at www.bbpakc.com On September 10th ...we had a very well attended After Hours Garden Party at Good Earth Water Gardens hosted by Northland Neighbors magazine. The weather was perfect, and the setting was fabulous for an evening of networking and connecting with people. Wine’s by Jennifer served the wine and the Street Tacos came from Scott’s Kitchen. We heard from three non-profit organizations, Anchor Her, Turning Point and Synergy Services; each explained what they do and how they would use the funds if they were our selected non-profit for the coming year. Our next After Hours will be on October 8th at RiverPark Pub in downtown Parkville. This event is being hosted by Andrea & Jared Gallamore of Midwest ProCleaning Services. We encourage the non-profits who are applying for the 2021 grant to please attend and give us a short presentation about your organization. The deadline for submission of applications is midnight on October 8th. Voting will begin on October 9th and will end on Tuesday, October 27th.
