Avila Theatre's Director of Performance Studies, Matt Schwader, will be directing Kansas City Actors Theatre's production of THE PESTS for the KC MOlière: 400 in 2022 festival. 3 roles are yet uncast! Audition info below... AUDITION NOTICE Kansas City Actors Theatre is seeking to cast roles for our production of THE PESTS, an adaptation of Molière’s LES FÂCHEUX by Dr. Felicia Londré, directed by Matt Schwader. This production will be part of the "KC MOLIÈRE: 400 IN 2022" fest...ival. THE PESTS is the story of a French Marquis, Eraste, continually thwarted from meeting his beloved by a string of eccentrics, bores, and madmen. The play includes three ballets, as eccentric as the pests Eraste desperately seeks to avoid. Roles yet to be cast are ORPHISE (ingenue and love interest of Eraste) LA MONTAGNE (Eraste’s valet, serving man) MOLIERE/FILINTE (an overly-earnest friend) KCAT encourages members of diverse backgrounds and abilities to audition for our productions. We welcome actors of all ages, ethnic/national origins, races, sexes, creeds, orientations, and abilities. **KCAT is promoting a fully vaccinated workplace. All employees are required to be fully vaccinated prior to first day of employment and will maintain social distancing and sanitation protocols during rehearsals and performances. Both AEA and non-union actors are encouraged to audition for available roles. AEA contracts, $657/week. Non-equity contracts, $400/week. KCAT has a commitment to hiring local theatre artists. Please do not submit if you do not reside in the greater Kansas City area. At Avila, he is very involved with the theatre department and the Avila choir. He enjoys photography, playing guitar and ukulele, and gaming!
