It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Auxiliary member Charlie McMahan. He was a wonderful, kind person and will be missed my many. Rest In Peace, Charlie. Arrangements to be determined.

Help us celebrate World War II Veteran, Ott Jasper’s 100th birthday tomorrow by participating in a drive by birthday parade! Wednesday, July 1st, 6:15pm at the VFW Post on Jefferson Street, Washington. Hope to see you there!

ATTENTION FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY: With the lack of summertime activities for our young baseball players in the Washington area VFW Post 2661 is looking to host a recreational baseball tournament for our youth, ages 9 through 12 years old. The tournament would take place the last weekend in July and will run from Thursday evening thru Sunday afternoon. It will be an eight team tournament consisting of four teams ages 9 & 10 and four teams ages 11 & 12 years old. Teams ...would be limited to 11 players and 2 coaches. We’re asking for a $25.00 entry fee for each player or $275.00 per team. Additionally a waiver would be required for those participating. Families would be encouraged and allowed to attend however social distancing practices would be necessary. The safety of those involved is of the utmost concern for everyone involved. We realize the time is short so we’re asking anyone interested to contact us on our website, through facebook or by calling 314-265-4490. If enough interest is indicated teams would be selected and practices would be held at the VFW ball field beginning the week of July 5th. We are also asking if anyone might be interested in sponsorship for the tournament to contact us and help make the summer a little more fun and enjoyable for those wanting to participate.
