We are on the precipice of a new year. It’s New Year’s Eve. We soon will have to adjust our thinking to write 2021 as the date. It may take some time to adjust. For some, they will not get to see this change. They have already stepped to the other side. Others are making plans for celebrating the coming in of the New Year. Still others are filling out their yearly planners for upcoming events. But each of us are also on the precipice of eternity. In a conversation with Jesus..., the disciples asked him, What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? The Lord responded by describing events that would occur in the last days. But he ended his dialogue with, But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Matthew 24:36) Verse 42 reads, Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. My friend, as you plan for the year ahead, I ask you to be sure you have planned for eternity. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6) It is written, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine hear that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9) Make sure ‘following Christ’ is marked on your calendar of 2021, please! See more

I must confess, there are a lot of things I have never gazed upon with my eyes. I have never saw a whale in the ocean, the northern lights in Alaska, the pyramids, a walrus or penguin in the wild, or a man walking on the moon. I have seen pictures, but again, never gazed upon them. In looking at a picture I have to accept the idea that whoever took that picture was actually there and saw it. I have never seen the lame walk, the blind made to see, the deaf hear, or the dead ...raised. However, others have, so I must believe it happened. Jesus told the disciples of John to tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. (Luke 7:22) John was to believe what others had seen. So must we. I haven’t seen heaven yet, but one, who was there, Jesus, gave us a description. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. (John 14:2-4) We can read in Revelation 4:3,4, that, there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. The Bible has been given to us to paint a picture of what was, and what shall be. We are to take it as truth. We take a lot of things for truth just because we see a picture or hear a description. I pray that we might take the Bible, as God’s word of truth, and seek after him. May we accept Paul’s testimony and believe. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. See more

Have you ever looked at your Christmas gifts and wondered why did I receive this gift? Maybe you said to yourself, this is the best gift I have ever received,... or maybe you said, This is the worse gift I have ever received. Have you ever thought, I will just return this gift, the giver will never know? Have you ever thought about your journey of life and asked yourself the same questions, maybe worded in a different way? Lord, why did you give me this _______? Lord, thank you for ___________! Lord how could you be so cruel or so loving? This journey of life we are on is a gift of God. Jeremiah 1:5 say, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee. In Psalm 139:16 we read, Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and I thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. Take a look at Isaiah 44:2, Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb Another verse comes to mind, that being, Job 31:15, Did not he that made me in the womb make him? And did not one fashion us in the womb? This journey of life, a gift of God, to travel here and then there, as the apostle Thomas saith, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? (John 14:5) This journey, with all its valleys and mountains, likes and dislikes, gifts received and gifts we want to return, is the gift of life given to us by the creator. What we do with it is up to us. However, God our Saviour will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4) He invites us to come to him and learn the way. My friend, tonight, would you allow the spirit of God to bring you to an altar of repentance and find the gift that thousands have looked for and found? Would you allow the spirit to bring you to a confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ? See more
