Today is Thursday, November 12, It is National Chicken Soup for the Soul Day. National Chicken Soup for the Soul Day is a day to celebrate who you are and how you get there. Today is the day to take time to nurture your soul. Chicken Soup is so good for you. It is warm and hearty and holding a nice hot bowl of it in your hands warms your whole body. Similarly, the regular nurturing of our souls benefits our health. So today listen to some music, watch a Hallmark movie (we have lots here at the library--and yes, we are open), or bake something to share with someone who is shut in. Meditate and pray. Take care.

These people have risked their lives to protect our nation's freedom. Veteran's Day's primary purpose is to thank living veterans for their service and sacrifices. Today is Sunday, November 8. It is the day to recognize Parents as Teachers Day. This is the day to encourage Parents as Teachers Organizations and parents to work together to support childhood education. The concept for PAT was developed in MIssouri in the 1970s. The program was used to try to get parents to help their preschoolers get ready for kindergarten. Take some time today to teach your children something new and join with your local schools to help improve education in your community. Take care.
