Check out professional soccer goalkeepers Mark Pais (University of Tulsa/Ladue HS) & Tomas Gomez (Georgetown University/Webster Groves HS) as they get some work in at Athletic Republic STL. Mark and Tomas consistently get after it during their offseason workouts as they prepare for the upcoming season. Mark spent last season with the Miami FC and Tomas with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, both in the USL Championship. We always enjoy when they spend their time training at Athletic Republic STL during the offseason! Best of luck this upcoming season boys!

Why don’t you see a ton of straight bars lifts in our programming? Read below. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, but generally speaking we prefer the proprioception required by a single leg squat or dumbbell press vs a symmetrical barbell.

Please take note parents! Keep your kids playing multiple sports as long as possible. Yes- hit the weights, but not at the detriment of building speed, neuromuscular coordination and mobility. Unfortunately baseball has turned into the new football posting videos of kids (oftentimes too young) deadlifting 500 lbs. what’s the risk vs the benefit? Take note on what Alabama is doing. The super treadmill is amazing for all field and court sports! High inclines + challenging speeds = power output enhancement.
