Repeated use of addicting substances has been shown to change the way the human brain is structured. The reward system and the area that manages willpower and impulse control become damaged overtime. Most addicting substances cause a rush of dopamine, one of the brain’s feel-good chemicals, each time the substance is used. However, the effect the drug has on dopamine lessens each time, resulting in the desire for more of the substance. Eventually, the reward system will no longer function properly, leaving the user feeling dull or listless. Also, areas of the brain that manage self-control begin to wear way as the substance continues to be introduced into the nervous system, making it harder for those already addicted to quit. #DidYouKnow

Happy New Year! Our prayer today is for Adult & Teen Challenge St. Louis to continue to make a pathway for people struggling with addiction and allow the Lord to do His work in them. We know that God can open doors that seem impossible.
We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our sponsors and donors. This year has had a lot of ups and downs, but you have blessed us more than you know. We never closed our doors and have been able to continue offering hope to those that so desperately need it. Thank you so much for a difficult but blessed 2020! We love each and every one of you. May 2021 be your year of blessings!
Merry Christmas from us to you!
On this Election Day, remember that God’s hand is upon us. His promises never fail and His kingdom will not be shaken.
YOU are created in the image of God!

This is a great question to reflect on today, especially if you are one that has been through any Adult & Teen Challenge program. Remembering that moment when Jesus made himself present in your life can be so comforting in any moment. When did Jesus first become real to you?
How do you be strong and courageous? Wait for God.
Please SHARE... Meet Bridget Teen Challenge has not just been a "rehab" for me. Any of you who have known me KNOW that I have always been a bad influence. Bef...ore Teen Challenge I had successfully completed 27 rehab facilities over these last 10 years and I found myself still in the revolving door of institutions. I could run one! I spent 6 years on methadone maintenance, which I thought would be my saving grace to my heroin addiction, but I was still empty and dead inside. I hated being on methadone. I was completely hopeless and unwilling to do anymore programs, it seemed so pointless to me, I just couldn't "get it. This program didn't just, "wish me luck" and a "hopefully you'll get it this time. They LOVED me back to life until I could love myself. They TAUGHT me about Jesus, the way, the truth, and the life. They TOOK me straight from jail without a dime to my name, no insurance. They NEVER asked me for anything but to be willing and open. They SHOWED me how to live my life as an example to give hope to others. I live in FREEDOM today, no more methadone, no cigarettes, no psychiatric meds ...... No NOTHING!! I AM FREE I am forever grateful for Teen Challenge RI that gave me my dignity as a woman back and showed me through example how to be treated and how to treat others. If you, or someone you know needs help please contact us.. 401-467-2970 Please share so others will know there is HOPE!
