#IBuyLocalArt We are shopping local the entire holiday season. Here are some #localKC artists selling work this holiday season that you can support when shopping for gifts this month. 1 Gayle Faulkner... "For about 40 years, I have been painting and selling my work, initially in watercolor/mixed media and now in acrylics on canvas." 2 Tanya VanDillen "VanDillen explores several subject matters in her work, a body which currently includes the cosmos, the ocean, and music. While these things may not seem connected at a first glance, they all have one thing in common they bring people together." 3 Wanda Tyner Glass Art "Wanda manipulates and forms glass into shapes with heat, flow, dimension, patterns and texture bringing vibrant colors to life." 4 Elise Gagliardi Art "Elise is an experimental multi-media artist. She uses various mediums such as; photography, watercolor, cutouts, and fabric. In her work, she addresses the complex nuances of motherhood, memory, nostalgia, remembrance, and dependency through visual storytelling." . . . #ShopLocalKC #HolidayShopping

One of the most beautiful things we have in common as individuals is our humanity. As we awake to the dawn of a new day -- it is more important than ever that we address the many social and economic challenges facing America and its communities of every size and in every state. The arts are a proven partner in achieving solutions to problems we collectively face and can have an effective and positive impact on such areas as homelessness, recidivism, mental disability, health and wellness, creative youth development, the healing of our military service members, workforce development, employment, infrastructure, and economic impact. It is with a sense of urgency and a renewed spirit for change that ArtsKC reminds our community of our commitment to bring the arts into all necessary conversations of community development. #ANewDay #ArtIsTheAnswer
