Jane Booth Vignette Pollinators Acrylic on Paper 12 x 12 in... www.cerberagallery.com/product-category/jane-booth/ Please feel free to contact us via DM, Phone +1.844.202.9303 or Email: [email protected] Jane Booth’s vast canvases, covered with large swaths of bright paint, pay homage to the natural world and its constant changes. Many evoke abstract sunsets or an otherwise vibrant sky, although she strives to represent nature, not recreate it literally. Her process involves laying down 50-yard rolls of raw canvas on the floor of her studio or on the ground outside her ranch in Kansas, where she can soak in the prairie and woodland vistas. She pours vibrant color mixtures over the horizontal canvas and pushes the stain around with her hands to create atmosphere, before tacking the canvas to a wall so she can mark it according to her intuition. I like to paint like a bird dog runs, bringing a depth of senses to the canvas, using the whole body, intuition engaged, she says. En plein air, Poured, Abstract Landscape, Stains/Washes, Automatism, Gestural Abstraction, Contemporary Gestural Abstraction, Calligraphic, Women Artists, United States, Painting, Gestural, Altered and Substituted Canvases, Nature #gestural #abstract #fineart #contemporary #Automism #art #charcoal #galleryart #studiolife #oilpainting #fineart #newwork #white #oil #abstract #greenpoint #figurativeart #canvas #red #paper #brooklyn #abstractart #oiloncanvas #readytohang #contemporaryart #painting #greenpointartist #abstractpainting

Since 2000, Kansas artist and educator Stephanie Lanter has been working in clay, fiber, and mixed media. Cerbera Gallery’s latest exhibition, Slippery, by Lanter engages with the cryptic paradoxes that can be found in her work. Using delicate lines to connect abstract sculptural elements, Lanter magnifies the relationship between negative space and form. Lanter’s distinctive clay and fiber sculptures reveal the unrelenting modes of communication that link people’s bodies a...nd minds through negative space. Using a technique called analog 3-d printing or manual slip trailing, Lanter builds ambiguous forms with liquid porcelain. Through this method, Lanter has developed her own language as hidden phrases and nonsensical words are strung together in clay throughout her sculptures. Lanter, received an MFA from Ohio University in 2002 and a BA from Xavier University in 1998. Lanter is Currently the Assistant Professor of Ceramics at Emporia State University in Kansas. She has also taught at Washburn and Wichita State Universities.

"I am interested in the functional format as a realm of exploration, but I strive for my pieces to transcend their utilitarian boundaries and function as sculptural elements. I use the ideals of the vessel to clarify design and explore form as it relates to space. To me working in clay is more about composition, proportion and surface than it is about efficiency of use. The dualities of this medium continually fascinate me. In my process I play with the plasticity of the material and its ability to capture spontaneous movement in form and surface. I then contrast it by introducing hard edges and lines that interrupt and accentuate the flow of that softness. I also want the skin of my pieces to heighten the viewer’s awareness of the interior volume and function as a canvas for color and decoration. My hope is to make pieces that are able to communicate feelings and ideas without recalling specific objects. I intend for these compositions to be mysterious and open-ended enough to evoke multiple interpretations." #pottery #handmade #design #interiordesign #art #clay #homedecor #craft #handcrafted #porcelain #ceramic #tableware #homeware #decor #midcentury #scandinaviandesign #artist #interior #stoneware #ceramicart #jenggala #makersgonnamake #keramik #sculpture #interiors #nordicdesign #home #homewares #designer #midcenturymodern

Anne Krause Cup & Saucer Materials : Porcelain, Glaze, Underglaze Dimensions : 3 1/4 x 6 3/8 x 6 3/8 Inches Description : "Sometimes I am afraid of the ideas that I think, but the fact that a painting in my house coincides with another universe... of that I am sure."... Please contact us for more information, Phone +1.844.202.9303 or Email: [email protected] | We are open by appointment or shop online: www.cerberagallery.com Anne Kraus is best known for painterly narrative scenes on traditional ceramic forms, usually in a white reserve and incorporating text. Kraus began her art career as a painter living in New York City. The European porcelains from Meissen, Sèvres and R.S. Prussia that she saw at the Metropolitan Museum captured her imagination and influenced her decision to work in clay. Kraus’ early work was done at her Shining Leaf Pottery in New Jersey. The pieces are built from slip-cast stoneware elements that are combined and recombined in many different ways. Kraus mastered the use of under glaze decoration. The emotional images in her narratives may appear deceptively calm, often drawn from her dream diaries, they frequently present her deeply personal views on political, social and cultural issues. In addition to images, her work typically includes carefully drawn text relating to the images. Toward the end of her career she began making tile paintings. See more
