Remembering Dr. Roger Byrd It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing of Roger C. Byrd, DO, FAOCD. Dr. Byrd passed away October 22, 2020, at the age of 79. Dr. Byrd served the AOCD in many leadership roles over the years, earning both Life Member and Fellow of Distinction status in the College. Dr. Byrd served as President of the AOCD from 1981-1982. In addition, he served on numerous committees, including the Awards Committee from 2005-2020, the By-Laws Committee... from 1991-1996, the Nominating Committee from 1991-1992, and the Public Relations Committee from 1989-2003. The AOCD is grateful to Dr. Byrd for his many years of membership and service to the College. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. Obituary & Funeral Service Details Dr. Roger Clarence Byrd February 12, 1941 - October 22, 2020 Beloved husband of Mary Jo (nee Francis) for 57 years. Loving father of Scott Byrd, Michael (Michele) Byrd, David (Johanna) Byrd and Julie (Emily D'Agostini) Byrd. Dearest grandfather of Hannah, Emily, Edith, Charlotte, David and Benjamin. Dear brother of Marilyn (Chester) Brzys and Nancy (the late Gregory) Knoblock and brother-in-law of Anne (Gerald) Young. The family is requesting any donations be sent to the Rochester Rotary, The Capuchin Soup Kitchen or The Neighborhood House of Rochester. Visitation Sunday 2-8pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc 54880 Van Dyke Ave. at 25 Mile Rd.
