Public speaking. Most people hate it. Many want to secretly be good at it. And no matter how far you run from it. Its a part of life.... But its a scary thing. The reason why people fear public speaking is: * Fear of humiliation * Concerned about not being prepared * Worry about their appearance * Pressure to perform * Personal insecurity * Concerned that the audience won’t be interested in them or the speech * Lack of experience * Fear of mistakes and overall fear of failure. The spoken word is so powerful. Public speaking is more than just saying some words in front of an audience, but it can really make a big impact and change the course of history. People who rose up in their generation in the face of criticism, racism, war, lack, fear or despair. Someone rose up and used their voice to change history. These few changed the course of history by their voice. Their words became weapons on their lips. The spoken word is one of the most powerful life changing gifts and weapons. Yours is too. And what you have to say is valuable. For the last 20 years I have been public speaking in some capacity. I started out doing very little presentations in front of a crowd. The way I started was a complete accident. There was a need, I saw it and I filled it. I took various trainings over the years and they all taught me something new. Public speaking is not just an event, but a process and if you want to make a difference than public speaking is definitely a part of that. My motivations when I was younger and just starting out were different than they are today. At the very heart however, I wanted to make a difference and make a great impact.
