OK, I have to state this for the record. Definition of absurd 1: ridiculously unreasonable, unsound, or incongruous an absurd argument... : extremely silly or ridiculous absurd humor STORY: Small country church bound to one of the mainstream organizations. Total number of attendees/members - Twelve (12). Through arrogance, self righteousness and POLITICS the little church has just experienced a schism. Seriously. Split right down the middle. I am having an issue wrapping my brain around this.

A bishop must "not lay his hand on one in haste", the priestly promise is made before God. All involved must understand the consequences.

Quote: "Their is a difference between unity and bipartisanship" - This political statement rings TRUE for religion also. Coming together in faith, peace, fellowship and love for the COMMON good overrides our need to air our differences in public as a tool of control and destructiveness.

Humble in the eyes of the God of Abraham... My new Church???

Who we are, our structure - United Episcopal Catholic Communion. We are an organization that is structured such that we may not gain large numbers of 'physical'... parishes. Our charter is such we strive to target the "mission church" concept. We target small groups, mainly the disenfranchised who have been shunned by the mainstream church or have lost the church of their choice. We target those that logistically may not attend the church of their choice. Rural areas or remote regions are in this group. These audiences are simply no longer served by the main stream organizations. Targeting small groups in their homes, rental space, donated space or electronic media in many cases are the only options available. These groups deserve the solace of the church equally with any physical parish. Any group we serve, or clergy serving that base, who desire a physical parish church is welcome to do so, with no monetary ties to the communion itself. We will praise them for this effort. Our organization is structured, and in our beliefs/canons, make it very clear we will use any process or media to reach the masses that are not being served by any other means. Crystal Cathedrals, golden trappings and the costs therein are not a priority for the operations of this organization. We are structured that "small groups in communion and fellowship" may meet to share the liturgy and the word.

God, please give to your Church today many more priests after your own heart. May they be worthy representatives of Christ the Good Shepherd. May they wholeheartedly devote themselves to prayer and penance;... be examples of humility and poverty; shining models of holiness; tireless and powerful preachers of the Word of God; zealous dispensers of your grace in the sacraments. May their loving devotion to your Son Jesus in the Eucharist and to Mary his Mother be the twin fountains of fruitfulness for their ministry. -- St. John Vianney
