Angel of Hope Memorial Service Each year on December 6th at 7:00 pm a Candlelight Memorial Service will be held at the Angel of Hope garden at Flower City Park. The service provides families and friends who have experienced the loss of a child to gather and remember their loved ones during the holiday season.... The service will begin at 7 p.m. and will include a short program. It is expected to last about one hour, regardless of weather conditions. It is customary to bring a candle and a white flower. We will have some handheld candles available.
Had another brick laid tonight, if there is anyone that bought a brick and wants to get ahold of me we would be glad to meet up with you to lay your brick, or if you want to wait until next ceremony that is fine too.
Needless to say yesterday was emotional, beautiful, and full of togetherness. A community of families all together to honor their children. My hope for this project was exactly what we witnessed yesterday. Families, friends, loved ones near and far, together, remembering our children lost to soon. Thank you to everyone for their support and prayers through all of this.
For Saturday.... 1st off, the garden is not 100% complete, I am still adding some paver bricks around base with sponsorship names on them in the future when they come in, will add some decorative rock inside as well. There will be sidewalks placed by the city at some point. Landscaping will also be done around the garden walls as well. That being said, the garden is ready for bricks and benches! We will have a blessing over the garden to start the ceremony, then I will sa...y a few words and we will get started with bricks. I will be naming bricks/benches in order alphabetically unless you have messaged me ahead of time with time constraints. The names that I will be listing are the ones that have purchased the brick, you will choose where you want the brick to be placed on the garden floor and I will have people assisting you to take brick out and replace with your granite brick. Benches, they will be placed on the wall in the am, but will be covered, so when your name is mentioned you can go uncover your bench. It is customary to leave a white flower at the base of the angel or in her hands symbolizing hope. Not a must, but is something you can do if you choose. I have had people ask about chairs, you are more that welcome to bring a chair to sit in, can sit in grass, or stand that is up to you. Masks are also not required, but if you feel more comfortable with one, by all means wear one. I will not be speaking clearly with one on so I will not have one on most of the time. See you Saturday!
Remember next Sat. OCt 10 3pm for our first brick laying and bench reveal. If you have already ordered bricks I will have them at the site for you and your family to lay. Masks encouraged, not required.
