Science Fair Kindness Project! Third Grader, Peter, came up with a science fair project like no other. He had an amazing idea on how he could make the world a better place. Watch the video to see how one person can make an impact on so many lives in a short period of time. We are so proud of Peter and the compassion he shows to others. #andrewsacademycrevecoeur #payitforward #kindnessmatters... #spreadkindness See more
THE GREAT SHOE SLIDE Second Graders tested different shoes to determine which one had properties best suited for an intended purpose. During this science lab, students not only learned about properties of materials but also had a lesson on friction. Their math skills came in handy as they measured, gathered information, analyzed data, graphed their results, and drew conclusions. #andrewsacademycrevecoeur #STEM #scienceiscool... #scienceisreal See more
In their unit on "Plate Tectonics," fourth graders are researching volcanoes. They performed several labs to study viscosity and how it pertains to lava flow. The lava viscosity is directly tied into volcano classification as well as the positive or negative effects on surrounding structures and environment. #andrewsacademycrevecoeur #STEM #science #scienceiscool

Creating learning experiences about cultural aspects helps students realize that we are all humans despite differences in the way we look, dress, eat, and celebrate. In Spanish class, Senora Delgado, celebrated Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead. Students decorated calavera (skull) masks, ate pan dulce (sweet bread), and learned the technique of papel picado (the art of Mexican paper cutting). Here are a few of the important facts they learned. --Day of the Dead and Hallowee...n are not the same. It is NOT Mexico's Halloween. --It is traditionally celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. --The Day of the Dead is a time to remember family and friends that have died. --It is not a sad holiday but a festive celebration. It is bright and colorful. --Traditional elements include skulls, marigolds, butterflies, pan de muerto, candles, and pictures. The main colors are purple and gold. #AndrewsAcademyCreveCoeur #DayoftheDead #dÃadelosmuertos See more
The Results Are In! Do you agree? Candy Survey Project Take a look at how the Fifth Graders studied charts, graphs, surveys, mean, median, mode, and range. Just in time for Halloween, the Fifth Graders wanted to know what is the favorite Halloween candy? They learned how to create a survey and write quality questions; how to collect, organize and interpret data; and finally how to represent their findings through a variety of charts and graphs. Is Skittles your favorite Halloween candy?
