The Becker family is proud to announce that A&M officially is under new ownership! Jeff and Erin Gerhardt, who are the owners of Cursed Bikes and Coffee, are excited to continue A&M as one of the oldest bike shops in the Saint Louis area. In case you don’t know-Cursed is located on Jackson and Pershing in U City and it’s where our dad had his shop Bicycle Center until 1982. Jeff and Erin look forward to implementing a fresh look into A&M while continuing to provide the neighborhood with great service for all your cycling (and caffeine) needs. As for those of you who knew Karl, he mentioned this plan many times over the last few years. He loved the shop and his customers. One of the best ways we can honor him and his wishes is to continue to shop and support A&M. Please stop by to meet Jeff and his crew. We know you will be pleased!
Just in case you didn’t make the party last year....
Trying to make the best of a what is going to be a hard day. It’s been a year today since we lost Karl and not a day goes by without me missing him something terrible. I want to thank all his friends and mine too-for your support and kindness. Wearing this I KB t-shirt gives me a pep in my step and smile to honor my brother. Cheers!
Dare to be different.
Be a standout! Some people may say odd or different but I wood say unique!
Visiting Boston and we got last minute tickets to see David Byrne. Steve and I saw this show with Karl last summer. Although bittersweet-it brought me gratitude for all he introduced me to and taught me. Miss him terribly.
Today is National Voter Registration day. You may be registered and if you are-take a few minutes to explain to someone who isn’t the importance of voting. It’s a privilege so many people don’t have. Democracy, baby!
Happy birthday, Joe Becker! Olympian and an OG of Penrose Park but an even better dad than bicycle racer. (We could not beat him up a hill or at a tennis match until he was 79.) Miss you, dad!
Happy birthday to Fausto Coppi. An original badass on two wheels.
Super cool article! Ona side note....Hats off to Dirk Sprogue, the owner of Billy Goat Bicycles, for all his hard work as The STLCC Club President.
