Monday August 10th is Stated Meeting and election night at 7:30 PM. This is our only meeting in August. No Dinner just a meeting.

Brethren! I have read the latest decrees from the Grand Master and consulted the latest rules from Clay County and the City of North Kansas City and have decided to proceed with the May 11 Stated Communication. The Lodge will open only on the First Degree, maintain 6 foot social distancing, and do no degree work. ... Anyone over 60 or otherwise at risk (officers included) is not expected to attend but can do so if you wish to risk it. We will also forego the potluck meal and open lodge at the usual 7:30 pm. Brethren: From Our Worshipful Master Marty Myers. With the spread of the Coronavirus, and its danger to public health, I feel compelled to order the following: 1: All brothers of Alpha #659 under the age of 70 are hereby mobilized to come to the aid of any older brother who may not be able to or feel comfortable leaving his house during these trying times. In practice, this should mean all an older brother needs to do is call any line officer and we will make sure your need...s are met. This means (but not are limited to) going to the store or running errands that may put an older member at risk of infection. 2: Certain items such as toilet paper and hand sanitizer are being swept up from store shelves due to panic buying. Brothers who have a surplus of these and other scarce items will share them with brothers who are not able to replenish their supply of such necessities. Extras of these items owned by the lodge are also to be made available to distressed brothers. We may chuckle at people panic buying toilet paper, but TP is a potent symbol of civilized living. Think of it more as people are trying to hang on to a symbol of civilization more than anything. We Masons know all about symbols! 3: All brothers will check up on each other. Younger brothers will check up on older brothers. Long-time brothers will call brothers that don't come to Lodge regularly. Above all, call a widow! I would rather hear a complaint that a brother or widow was getting too many welfare calls than finding out a need in the lodge was not being met. 4: As previously discussed with the Secretary, Alpha Lodge will remain open for regular events until such time other orders from the Grand Lodge or government authorities are received. No business will be conducted at the March 23rd stated communication except for courtesy degree work. No member over 70 should feel compelled to attend this meeting but instead consider the risks and govern themselves accordingly. 5: Brothers, remember your obligations! Alpha #659 is at 2121 Gentry in beautiful North Kansas City. The temple opens at 6pm for light refreshments with lodge starting at 7:30.
