Friday Blues. The Pete had a caster twist and the drives were pushing it to the ditch. The K’Dub was in for it’s annual check up. The Pete is headed to Mississippi to help those folks pick up the pieces after the recent storms. The T660 is coming at you in Utah to restock the shelves. One of these drivers has been devastated losing friends and family (none from the Rona) recently. Yet he’s still bringing you what you need. Show one another some grace out there. You really don’t know what might be going on in their life. Y’all be safe out there and keep’m between the ditches.

Today’s lineup. (Pun intended) Another P4 cascadia with worse problems than yesterday. KW T660 got new king pins next door at T&E Services. A pair of Volvo’s. Finished off with an old Mack CH613. Everyone of these trucks have something in common. The owners all want to run as efficiently and as cost effective as possible in today’s market. The one thing you can control is your variable cost. One of today’s projects. 2020 Freightliner Cascadia P4. Birth defect of caster shims removed. Toe was 3/16 positive. Drive axles were pushing the truck to the ditch. Petro told him he had a camber problem which he did not! He had a combination of things fighting against the outside of the right steer. Y’all be safe out there and have a great day.

Eyes wide open. This truck came in today for an alignment and a vibration. From his description I already knew it wasn’t alignment related but needed to prove it. Challenge accepted. Right now it’s easy for y’all to get mentally drained and distracted more than ever. For your own safety and everyone else’s please let someone look over your truck. If you’re just not sure about something and need another set of eyes to take a look I’m here for you. Vibration was easily identified as a carrier bearing failure and the drive shaft was about to give up. Alignment adjustment ended up being minor issue.

Some decisions are easy and some are extremely difficult. This one has been both. Y’all have dedicated your life to supplying this great country . Took me back to nineteen ninety something. It was actually 1994 when I was fortunate enough to meet and work side by side with the one and only Michael L. Beckett. I was only 21 and had absolutely no idea how this would change not only my career path but also life in general. I’m not capable of the words or jesters to express just how thankful I am. As Mike would say Thank you Amigo. The truck pictured just happens to be a 1994 KW W900 that I was tasked with today and has the very suspension that I learned on. 2020 Western Star 23k on the odometer. Ouch is an understatement. 3/4 toe in turned the steering axle into a V-Plow.

MD Alignment trivia day. What make and model truck is built with this alignment defect? FYI fixing this alone will not solve all of your alignment problems.
