Unforeseen challenges that come our way do not surprise our God. God guides us often by circumstances, some of which we cannot understand at the time. We move forward trusting God is always with us and God’s love has no limit, grace no measure and power no boundary.

COVID-19!update: testing positive So what do you do if you test positive for COVID-19? Monitor your symptoms. Most won’t have any issues as almost 40% who test positive remain asymptomatic. Start taking Vitamin C 500 mg daily and Vitamin D 1000 mg daily and aspirin 81 mg daily for a month. The Vitamins are to help your immunity and the aspirin prevents clots. Avoid lying in bed all day. If you get muscle aches, force yourself to get up and walk around 4-5 times a day to ...prevent developing blood clots. If you develop a cough or back pain, lie on your stomach with your arms over your head in pronated position and take deep breaths. Do this pronated respirations at least 4 times a day for 10-15 minutes, even longer if you can tolerate it. This pronated respirations somehow improve your oxygenation and might help prevent the need for hospital stay. Get a pulse oximeter (borrow one) if you can. I know it’s not often practical to get one, however it’s the only way to know if your oxygen level is adequate. There are patients who are asymptomatic but have oxygen levels drop below 90%, which is critical. It’s is postulated that many of the early deaths are from people waiting too long to seek help, not aware how low their oxygen level was. Make sure your fingers are warm if you use one to avoid false readings. Antibiotics in the early phase won’t help, but you should still contact your primary care physician if you develop a fever above 101 as a bacterial pneumonia can set in on top of COVID pneumonia. Steroids have been shown to improve mortality in up to 30% of patients who are acutely ill. There are no studies to indicate any benefits of taking it unless acutely ill. Not sure about benefits for relative hypoxia where your oxygen level drops to low 90s. Remdesevir is used only in hospital settings. Shown to shorten length of hospital stay, but has not shown any benefits in mortality. Protect yourselves and your loved ones. See more
