Airdrome Aeroplanes The first of the three test flights yesterday was on the Fokker Dr1 triplane ... It’s powered with the Verner Scarlet 7 engine turning a culver prop . We have a east- west 985 ft grass strip. On the east end there is a corn field and the fence has been taken down . The corn was harvested last week so that gives us an extra 200 ft of unimproved overrun if needed. Harvey Cleveland taxed the triplane back into this overrun area to give himself some extra room for the test flight . As you can see in the video he was airborne by the time he got to the beginning of the runway.
