The #1 question that I have heard recently: Are the home valuations online (ex. Zillow, Redfin, homelight, etc.) accurate? Answer: The home valuation tools online can give you a ballpark estimate based on the area comparables. They are only as good as the information that is used or input. So if you have not input any improvements or checked your square footage then they are at best a ballpark estimate. I have seen these estimates off as much as $100,000. If your goal is to g...et closer than a ballpark figure then it is best to have a professional come tour your home. The value is derived not only by square footage and comparable properties but also by improvements that have been made since you moved in and the condition of the property. If you have land, back to water, or back to greenspace it can also greatly affects the value in a way that a computer cannot determine.
